*** Activities, Events & Announcements *** 近期活動介詔、公告及宣佈事項

1. UCS will host this year’s CACA 5-school Speech Contest on 12/10/11 at our auditorium。 (聯合今年將 舉辦 中美文拹五校演講比賽)。

2. UCS intramural speech contest final round is held today at 9:00 A.M. at the auditorium. For all contestants please report to the registration desk in front of the auditorium on time. The complete speech contest schedule is attached for your reference. In each group the first 3 winners will get a trophy and the first 2 winners will represent UCS to attend the CACA 5-school speech contest on 12/10 in our school auditorium. 參加校內演講比賽決賽者，請準時報到抽籤以決定出場順序。詳情請參閱附件。

3. Please be aware that next week is Thanksgiving holiday and school is closed. 下週感恩節放假，學校停課。

4. Drawing contest entry is due on 12/3/11 (2 weeks from now), please don’t miss the deadline and hand in your work on time. Drawing contest rules are attached for your reference. 繪畫比賽將於十二月三日截稿，請把握機會。比賽辦法詳情請參閱附件。

5. The "Goodman foundation" will host a donation event on 11/19/11 in UCS. They will collect new/old clothes, toys, shoes, and new soaps and toothbrush and ship the materials they get from us to Salvador, which suffered a severe water draining disaster recently, before Thanksgiving holiday. If you have extra stuffs (those mentioned above) on hand at home and are willing to donate them, you can bring those things to school on 11/19 at school cafeteria. They can provide you a receipt that you may use it for tax (deduction) purpose next year. We will collect all the materials between 10:00 and 11:00 A.M. and give to their representative at that time. We wish a lot of our parents can help out in this event. Please bring your own bags for your donation materials. Thank you very much.

好人基金會將於十一月十九日來本校發起一項賑災活動，希望能透過中文學校募集新舊衣服, 玩具, 鞋子, 以及新的肥皂跟牙刷在感恩節前 把物資送到災區(中美洲薩爾瓦多全國嚴重淹水) 。你的捐助可以開具收據，便於明年報稅之用。十點至十一點之間會有專人在餐廳收集捐助物品，請踴躍參加，詳情請參閱附件。謝謝！

6. The annual Chinese New Year event is approaching soon. We ask our parents to help out as volunteers and encourage the new parents and those who have never being a volunteer to participate this time. If you are interested to be a volunteer for this event please contact our responsible person, Ming Liu (TEL: (908) 889-4115) directly. 7. There is a ‘Chinese Character Cultural Festival’ Chinese Vocabulary Contest to be held in Flushing, NY on 11/26/11. The deadline for registration is on 11/20/11 (this Sunday). If you are interested please contact language dean, Airu Chen, for details (she will bring her kids to attend this event for sure) and registration. For details please read the attached files. 漢字文化節漢字趣味大賽將於十一月二十六日，在法拉盛 紐約華僑文教服務中心 (133-32 41st Road, Flushing, New York 11355) 舉行， 各組前三名優勝者將頒發獎金。報名請洽教務孫藹如，十一月二十日為止，詳情請參閱附件。

8. The Yale University’s Chinese American Students Association is hosting its First Annual National Chinese-American Essay Competition. For details please read the attached files.
