1. UCS pre-registration for school year 2012-2013 is held on this Saturday (5/12). It is also our ‘Open House’ day for school work exhibitions. The registration fee of $30.00 is waived during these two days if you registered. We have offered 10 different cultural classes for your child to choose from next year. For complete list of the cultural classes, please see the attached file for details. Please note that we do not expect all 10 cultural classes will be opened eventually – it must meet a minimum enrollment requirement in that at least 5 students enrolled then the class will be kept. For cultural classes with <3 students (1 or 2) registered during these two weeks, that class will be cancelled IMMEDIATELY and won’t be kept to next semester for selection. Classes with 3 or 4 students enrolled will be kept to next year for selection during the first two weeks. If after two weeks the number of students do not pass the 5 students mark, it will be cancelled as well. According to our registration staff, we do not have any cultural class meet the 5 students requirement yet (most of the classes have only 1 or 2 students registered). Please do not waste your time (till next semester starts) to register the cultural class, or some cultural classes will be cancelled for sure. 本週六 (5/12)為本校預註冊及開放日時間，請踴躍預註冊(可節省$30.00元註冊費) 。明年本校將開十個不同的文化課以供選擇，請參閱附件查看明年所有文化課目錄。預註冊之後若不滿三人(即一或二人) ，該文化課立即取消。若是三或四人註冊，則保留至下學年度前二週以供選擇。若二週之後該班仍未滿五人，該文化課依然取消。此五人開班的限制，不適用於民族舞蹈班及書法課，但仍須三人或以上始可開班。目前各文化課均未滿五人(多數是一至二人) ，請把握機會選擇文化課並於本週預註冊，否則很多文化課恐因人數不足而取消。 2. We have found Ms. Sharon Chiou willing to conduct the Word Recognition Game for traditional classes on June 2nd. So this game will take place as planned. 認字遊戲將由邱亞美主辦，此項活動將於六月二日如期舉行。
3. Due to the successful and wonderful Indian dance demonstration, some parents have expressed the interests of joining this cultural class. After discussion through the board members (via e-mail during this week), we announce that the adults can join the Indian cultural class. Depending on how many adults/children are registered, we will open one or two Indian cultural class(es). If two classes are opened (each must have >= 5 students registered), then the adult class will be from 10:00 to 10:50 A.M. at the same (chorus) room. If you are interested in joining this class please register by this week (to avoid cancellation of the class due to lack of people registered). The adult students will pay $50.00 more than the children, due to the ‘classroom’ fee (for adults only).


上週印度舞老師成功的宣傳展示會，吸引了一些學生家長們的興趣想要參加。經本週理事會理事密集電郵討論之後，一致贊成開放成人家長參加此文化課。至於開一班(小孩大人一起上課)或是開二班(小孩大人分開上課) ，則視預註冊完畢之後，各班人數多寡及老師意願而決定。若開得成二班，則大人上課時間為十點至十點五十分，並另外加收$50.00場地費，請踴躍報名(莫讓此文化課因人數不夠而取消) ，謝謝。

4. The BBQ event on 6/2 is now accepting registration. Please go to the principal and record your family’s attendance (how many will attend, what kind of items you will bring, etc.). The fees for this event will be $10.00 for adult and $6.00 for children (age 12 and under). People over age 80 or under 4 are free of charge (no $5.00 bonus this year, sorry). Students who attend either ANJCS sports contests or CACA Fun Day tug of war competition or fun game and won the 1st place are free, too. (Please pay first and we will reimburse you later if you are one of the ‘champion’ students.) We need more volunteers for this event and if you can help please let me (principal) know. Thanks.

六月二日的烤肉活動開始報名，請向校長登記。大人$10.00元，小孩(十二歲以下)$6.00元，八十歲以上或四歲以下免費。凡參加ANJCS運動會或CACA拔河比賽及趣味競賽獲第一名成績的學生(或參賽的家長)亦免費。須若干家長的協助幫忙(如買肉買碳及醃肉等) ，有意者請與校長聯絡，謝謝。

5. CACA 2012 summer camp registration has started. Each school has 20 students (both traditional & CS L class students) can attend (guaranteed) and the registration is based on ‘first-come-first-serve’ basis. If interested please go to our VP, Lily Chen Hafteck, or principal (for this week only) for detailed information (you may get registration form and health exam form from her or me or download yourself). The registration fee of $30.00 can be waived if registered before 5/31, since the deadline for registration for CACA summer camp has been extended to end of May. Please consider registering your child/ children if you have not done so. 二零一二年CACA暑期夏令營已經開始報名，每校皆有二十個名額可以使用(先來先贏原則) 。 有興趣報名者請參閱附件，並與副校長陳莉莉或校長聯絡。五月三十一日之前報名者免報名費(三十美元) 。

6. CACA 2012 Fun Day is scheduled on 5/20/12 (Sunday) afternoon (12:30 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.) at MJCS (in East Brunswick). As usual, there will be fun/carnival games, delicious foods, entertainments (programs) and sports competitions (tug of war, etc.) on that Sunday afternoon. Tickets are sold at $0.50 a piece and at a discount rate of every 22 tickets for $10.00 (buy $10.00 get $1.00 free, the discount rate is not applied when buying tickets at site on 5/20). It is available now and please come to the principal (Johnny) for tickets. Only 40 packs (1 pack = 22 tickets for $10.00) are distributed to us. And I have sold 13 packs already (so only 27 packs are left now). Please don’t miss the chance to buy discount tickets.

中美文化協會的園遊會，將於五月二十日在中部中文學校(at East Brunswick)舉辦(下午十二點半至六點) 。有台灣美食小吃，趣味競賽及遊戲，歌舞表演，以及體育競賽，包括五校拔河比賽。園遊券每張五毛美元，買十元送一元(亦即22張十美元) ，多買多送(現場購買則無此優待)，園遊券現已開賣，請洽校長購買事宜。只有40組(每組22張十美元)賣完為止欲購從速(目前已賣出十三組，尚餘二十七組)。

7. ANJCS Field Day sports competition will be held on 5/19/12 (Saturday) afternoon from 12:30 to 5:30 P.M. at Holmdel High School Roggy field at Holmdel, NJ. We have already registered this event. For contestants please be there by 12:20 P.M. The sports contests schedule is attached for your reference.

五月十九日(週日), ANJCS將舉辦本年度的新州中文學校運動會，本校已報名。請選手們於十二點二十分抵達會場，以便參加十二點三十分的開幕繞場儀式。運動會比賽程序請參閱附件。

8. Music from China will have a concert on 6/2 and they will also host a summer camp in late July to early August this year. For more information please see the attached file for details.
